I have had this phone for a year now and 6 monthss left to go on the contract and i have started to have major problems with it.The phone started to switch its self on and off and over heating,it would be fully charged and loose battery life in one hour,It would also freeze about 6 times when trying to send a txt and repeatdley switch its self on and off.And now it has completley given up and is now not working so there is clearly a fault with this phone,And i am now paying for a phone that i can not use.I will not be having a samsung again.I have lost all my photos and vidoes and everythimg that was on my phone!!!!!!

i had my samsung g600 for about 4 months when i started to have trouble with charging it. i ended sending it back to samsung as my supplier was not going to help with it, samsung was not helpful either saying i dammaged the inside myself, or general usage, on a 4 month old phone, so i would be very careful with this phone, as i am now stuck with a phone i cant use and an 18 month contract i cant get out off

I've had this for a year now, although it looks good, the screen has good resolution and audio clarity is as good as any other phone I've had, there are many things wrong with this model. The menu system, is laborious, and doubly so if you add a memory card. The files on the mem-card have to be accessed separately. e.g. if I want to edit a picture on the mem card, it has to be transferred to the phone memory first. Maybe this is true for other camera-phones and one can get used to it, but it should be simpler.
Camera is 5Mpx, which sounds good, but the lens lets it down. I took comparative pictures using the G600 and my 5Mpx camera, the phone pictures had loss of resolution around the edges which brought the camera down to 2 or 3 Mpx equivalent. The photo light, ("flash"), is usless for anything over a couple of metres, and unlike xenon flash it does not freeze any movement. Blurred pictures are more likely than not. And slow!, focussing takes an age, as does completion after the button is pressed.
Camera menu is also tedious, and if the camera is switched off between shots some settings like flash, auto-save and macro will default, which isannoying.
Movies are quite good for a mobile device, limited by the lens and there is some highlight "flare" on dull days.
Internet access is ok for a 2G device, characters are legible, but pageing is slow. Ok for weather and traffic news, but not much else.
Bluetooth works well, except that music has to be played through a stereo device and is not available through a mono headset. I play music through my car stereo, and it sounds as good as a CD recording, (though I am no great musical aficionado).
Screensavers and ring tones supplied are pretty poor, though this is no gread hardship.
The bodywork chips easily, leaving unsightly pock-marks, so don't drop it! ("Chocolate" model)
There is a tv-out facility, but the cable isn't supplied with the kit
Standby and talk times are excellent. I have never had any trouble with signal strength/reception, even in the car, (yes, hands free!) Speaker-phone works well, though the buttons on the side of the case, and the side plug-in for the in-car charger meant I had to re-think my car cradle.
All in all, this phone should by now be down to well under £100, if you don't have a good reason for buyin this model, go for 3G with a "proper" flash. I was going to upgrade to an i900, but this seems to have the same camera and led light, so I'll go for a 3G Nokia next tim...

I'd read quite a few reviews about this phone before I purchased it, some were good and some were bad, but liked the look of the phone so thought I'd get it anyway. I'd been used to Samsung phones and quite relieved to see the end of the touch screen phones. (you always end up doing something you don;t want to) The first impression was good, easy enough to use, looks quite modern and stylish and very easy to text. I'm very hard on my phones, always dropping them etc, but this has handled it very well. The camera is a brilliant tool, the zoom facility is very good and captured some great photo's. You get a lot of unneccessary options within the phone, for example different skins and the option to do you own, but you just end up with a menu you can hardly read, so why give the choice, much easier to use the ones they put on the hardware in the first place. The battery life in fantastic compared to other samsung phone, I was always charging my phone every day, but with this on once every three days or so. Overall a good phone and very happy with the purchase.
